Meh, sorry, Halo just doesn't do it for me. I bought 3 when it came out, and was bored with it in less than a month.

I have never played Halo, so I cannot give an opinion on the game itself. BUT, I can honestly say that that was one of the worst trailers I have ever seen. For a franchise as big as Halo you would think they could come up with more excitement. Of course, it could be that this trailer was designed for true Halo fans and it contained a lot more anticipation than I can imagine.

Yeah, I just can't get into Halo. I did like Advo and got 3.....didn't care for it.

Until Halo:ODST, it's always been about one super-soldier (a Spartan) named Master Chief. So the introduction of fighting along 5 other Spartans is the new wrinkle to Halo.

You think you have :cussing: frustraiting nights on MW2 try playing HALO. If you have never played it or haven't played in a longtime, you will need a bottle :occasion14: of somthin to calm your nerves :BangHead: I was pretty good on the original but that went to :BangHead: when my kids got good and got really :cussing: bad.

updated Reach Beta info:

http://xbox.joystiq.com/2010/04/22/halo ... creenshot/

tried to embed the video but I couldn't work it out.

I'll be buying Reach when it comes out, and playing the beta too. I got a code with ODST.

I only played Halo 3 for about six weeks or so before the CoD4 MP beta came out, but it's alright. I've started playing with my son every once in a while because it has split-screen online MP. I wasn't impressed with ODST, but looking forward to the Reach beta next week.

This is the best preview I've seen of the beta yet. Some cool stuff in there: http://g4tv.com/thefeed/blog/post/70420 ... sions.html

I am looking forward to Reach. it looks like they have really spruced it up - better graphics, better gameplay, and better weapons. I was not particularly keen on ODST. Fun single player, but I couldn't be bothered with the multiplayer, and the firefight mode was tedious after a while. Not enough variation in the weapons, although it was challenging.

They have also improved the button layout - melee is the right bumper now, so you don't have to take your thumb off the right stick. Not quite the same as MW2 but better than the damn B button. That always sucked.

No idea how the beta 'invite' works. Supposedly it's included with my ODST, but what does that mean? I didn't get a certificate or anything with my game.

If you load the first ODST game disc, there's an option at the bottom of the main menu that says "Play the Beta." From there you can download and play. I downloaded it at lunch, but the server wasn't available yet.

Played the beta for about an hour last night. Fun, but it's still, well… Halo. Seems a little faster paced, and there are some new weapons and "perks," but pretty much the same game it ever was. The matchmaking screens are a lot more refined, and there are some nice options where you can select similar players, but it still took ages to find a match. Hopefully they'll speed that up some. I read there were some server problems.

I played for about an hour the night it came out. they're having matchmaking issues, but the games I was in were okay.

people didn't seem interested in the team-based games at all, but I think those will be a strength. The new weapons are much better than ODST and Halo3. I hope to give it another look tomorrow after I get some work done at the dentist. If you see me online please invite me to a game.
